Boxset Project
Scheme: Dry point prints in response to observational drawings of Mount St. Alphonsus Church.

In this scheme students participated in a boxset project where each student created a dry point print in response to Mount St. Alphonsus Church. Students began by exploring marking making to create line and tone in their work through a variety of alternative drawing materials such as quills, twigs, and toothpicks. On their class trip to Mount St. Alphonsus Church students created observational pen drawings of the interior features of the church. Students used these drawings as a reference to create an edition of three dry point prints. Students explored more alternative tools such as nails, sewing needles and sandpaper to scratch their design into the surface of their plate. One print was then chosen to be placed into a boxset to be given back to the church.
